CIHI Update
May 2008
The Update
InterRAI and CIHI took the opportunity to announce the general release of the new Clinical Assessment Protocols (CAPs) at the National RAI conference held in Edmonton during the week of May 28th. As many clients and attendees of the 2007 National RAI Conference are aware, the industry has been anticipating this exciting release for the past twelve months.
The Clinical Assessment Protocols are compatible with the following InterRAI tools: RAI 2.0 for Long Term Care; RAI-HC for Home Care as well as with the new generation InterRAI-LTCF and InterRAI-HC.
At this time, the technical specifications needed to initiate development are not available from CIHI. This material is to be released in the next month.
Once the technical specifications are available, Momentum Healthware will review the functionality in more detail and engage with our clients to determine the priority of providing these protocols in the clinical applications. As part of this planning, we will determine which applications will implement the new CAPs as well as determining the timeline for adding this functionality in our Classic and Convergence Platform (CP) applications.
Please be aware that provincial organizations and other stakeholders are also reviewing the CAPs and their decisions may impact on when the CAPs will be required for facilities and providers within their mandate. Our clients may wish to discuss the CAPs with those provincial stakeholders as well.
What Momentum is Doing
Once technical specifications are made available, change requests for this enhancement will be documented.
