General Ledger
The General Ledger (GL) is the heart of the financial series. All sub-ledgers flow through to the general ledger in real-time. This module is a powerful tool that you can use to track and retrieve essential information for analyzing your facility’s business and help drive sound financial decisions. The flexible chart of accounts setup and allocation definitions with automatic transaction processing simplify your accounting processes. Complete audit control, multiple open fiscal periods and years, and immediate access to your financial information improve your overall financial control.
Account structure: The GL offers you the flexibility to design a chart of accounts that meets your unique requirements. You have the option of choosing an account structure up to 66 characters long (alpha-numerical) and up to 10 segments in length. New GL accounts can be added quickly with built in intuitive user tools.
Statistical accounts: These non-financial accounts can be used for tracking things such as meal days or worked hours that are used in your financial analysis.
Allocation accounts: Fixed allocation accounts allow you to set distributions by fixed percentages and variable allocation accounts allow you to base the distributions on ratios of other accounts such as statistical accounts.
Drill downs: Allow you to follow transactions that have occurred in other sub-ledgers so information can be traced back to the source document.
Budgets: Can be exported and imported to and from Microsoft Excel through an interactive wizard. Excel-based budgeting allows you to quickly and easily create a default budget template with accounts, descriptions and default amounts. The budgets can then be modified and imported back into the General Ledger.
Smartlists: Allows you to easily create and save views of all your important financial data and provides real-time access to information in quick, easy queries that can be personalized and saved for future use. In addition, you can export information from the Financial Management suite directly into Microsoft Word or Excel, eliminating extra steps.

- Powerful inquiry tools for period balances, budget summaries and net change per account
- Prior year adjustments
- Multiple Open Years include the current and prior year to allow for current entries as well as adjusting entries for previous periods
- Business Alerts can trigger a response to key stakeholders when certain events occur in the system.
- Reminders help automate your recurring tasks and give you the ability to assign them to your employees
