Convergence Platform

convergence platform overview

Momentum has developed an enterprise software platform for countries, health regions, and provinces in publicly funded healthcare environments which focus on managing the health and social health care of the vulnerable populations. This platform is based on a “breadth of continuum” approach and focuses on building a statistical, clinical, and workload data warehouse from a software user interface which enhances and supports clinical workflow.

Because of the architectural richness of Momentum’s Convergence Platform, we have the capacity to respect the differentiation (branding) of terminology, nomenclature, workflow, and information sharing requirements for each sector of care while still respecting the commonality of processes, and business objects across the enterprise view of the healthcare continuum.

Momentum’s architectural framework has been extremely well received in every market in which it has been installed. We have invested significantly in the foundational architecture which now has the capacity to support high levels of customization, configuration, and integration within the interoperable EHR strategy of our enterprise healthcare market. We have been uncompromising in our ongoing commitment to our five original architectural tenets; the resulting foundation is now highly leveraged as demonstrated by our recent project experience.

Convergence Platform - Overview

The Convergence Platform has been designed using Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) principles, where the business objects are independent or loosely coupled, and where business objects are separate from User Interface. Combined with extensive use of XML, Web Services, and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) results in a system that is highly adaptable, configurable, and scalable.

Momentum has worked with large Government and Provincial agencies since our inception in 1995. Since that time, we have grown and nurtured these long-standing relationships. Today, Provincial and Government-led roll-outs account for the majority of our install-base. The success of these relationships and installations is a testament of Momentum’s ability to provide strategic and scalable solutions to meet the wide ranging needs within a complex National/Provincial-led health system.

The Momentum Convergence Platform was designed to accommodate the needs of the organization instead of the organization accommodating the needs of the software. The system comes with hundreds of configurable reference data options in addition to a large number of application workflow options. Organizations requiring custom development can be accommodated easily and all without code split - which can be very costly to an organization.
