Updates to Medical Assistance Program

The Update
Effective July 1, 2006, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare has amended provisions of the code regarding payment for nursing facility services under the Medical Assistance Program (MA). To review the amendment in full, refer to their website. Some of the changes are:
- Inclusion of all Non-MA and MA residents for all picture dates not just the February 1st picture date
- Requirement to submit MDS records within 7 calendar days of the completion of the MDS record
What Momentum is Doing
There is no impact on the MDS application as a result of the announced changes.
