The Update
In preparation for implementing MDS3.0, the State of Washington has enabled the 5-character 'State' field under T3b, also called T3STATE.
Please note that the T3STATE, once turned on, is not exclusive to OBRA assessments. This value will also be calculated and submitted for Medicare only assessments, but this will not change your Medicare groups or payment.
What Momentum is Doing?
A hot fix will be made available for version 6.50.12 (the last general release of Momentum’s MDS application) to automate the reconfiguration of the application to enable T3b. Washington clients are encouraged to contact our support department to request a copy of this hot fix (065012_HF2). The hot fix will also include instructions that will allow clients to manually enable T3b field via the Assessment Definition Setup window.
Momentum will permanently introduce this change in the next general release of MDS USA (v6.7x) tentatively planned for deployment in June/July of 2009. Change Request CHR00010388 has been created to document the proposed changes.
