Updates to ICD-9-CM List

The Update
The list of new, invalid and revised ICD-9-CM codes has been posted to the CMS website for review. Version 27 of these updated codes will be effective on October 1, 2009.
IMPORTANT NOTE: CMS has made a slight change to the file format this year (descriptions are in lower case). If you import the files that are posted on CMS’s website, you will no longer be able to search for ICD9 codes by their descriptions in our products as we expect the descriptions to be in uppercase.
What Momentum is Doing?
Momentum has created a corrected version of the ICD9 files and they are now available for download from Momentum’s Support site.
Please contact Momentum Healthware’s Support Department at 1-877-444-4149 to download a corrected version 27 CMI files.
Momentum will also be modifying its application to automatically convert the descriptions to uppercase in future versions of its products. In addition, the correct files will also be included in the next General Release of our products.
Client sites can update their Care Management and MDS databases independently by following the instructions available in on line help. If you are using our Billing product, please be advised that a Momentum representative will be contacting your organization to assist in importing the new codes.
